A turning point for tourism development was 1880 with the arrival of the first tourist steamboat, and the first guests were hunters, including the Viennese Crown Prince Rudolf Habsburg. Malinska experienced its golden years of development in the 1970s with the opening of the Haludovo hotel complex, then a symbol of luxury. Its first hotel, “Jadran,” was opened by Petar Škarpa, and the brothers Tomo and Petra Fabijanić were also among the pioneers of hotel management.
